Village & Leyden Township Animal Trapping Program Begins

Animal Trap Image

The joint animal trapping program run cooperatively by Leyden Township and the Village began for the season on Monday, April 2nd. Schiller Park residents can access the program by calling the Community Development Department at (847) 671-8555 to order a trap. You will need to specify the type of animal you are looking to capture as the trap provided varies by the type of animal. In particular skunks need to be trapped using a special skunk trap to ensure the animal does not "spray" those removing it.

Once you order a trap it will be delivered by Schiller Park Public Works with instructions on type of bait to use for your type of animal and who to call at Leyden Township Animal Control once you have caught an animal. You should not set a trap on Friday as Leyden will not pick up a trap on the weekend and you should not trap an animal and keep in the trap for several days.

If you have questions about this program please call the Village Hall at (847) 678-2550.
