Flood Plain Remap for Crystal Creek

The Village of Schiller Park and Franklin Park hired an engineering firm to obtain a Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) or a Flood Plain Remap for Crystal Creek. The Floodplain Remap must be approved by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The Flood Plain Remap is currently under review by IDNR. IDNR expects to complete its review sometime in July. After the Flood Plain Remap is approved by IDNR, a 120-day period is required before it goes into effect. The Flood Plain Remap should become effective sometime in December. But this is subject to change.

Once the map is approved and the 120-day period begins, the Village will arrange a meeting with effected residents and businesses to discuss the Flood Plain Remap and explain the process on how this new map applies to individual properties.
