The Village has announced the streets for the 2019 street resurfacing program. Four streets were identified as being in the most need and will be done this year. Some curb and gutter will be done on each street and will be followed by a complete resurfacing of the roadway. Work is currently scheduled to begin on Monday, June 24 on Rose Street and Wilson Avenue. Work is scheduled to begin on Wehrman Avenue on or around Monday, July 1. Work on Scott Street will begin in September after the Anna Montana Water Park & Memorial Pool has been closed for the season.
If you have any questions or concerns about the project (or about the work as it is being done) please contact Brian Bursiek, Assistant Village Manager, via phone at (847) 671-8534 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
UPDATE 7/10/19: Work on Rose Street, Wilson Avenue, and Wehrman Avenue is continuing. Good progress has been made - curb & gutter work is almost finished on one side of the street and concrete work on the opposite side could begin as soon as the week of Monday, July 15th weather permitting. The Village still hopes that the work on these streets will be completed by around the middle of August as was previously planned.
UPDATE 8/2/19: The concrete work (curbs, gutters, sidewalk, and aprons) on all three streets is almost complete and should be finished the week of August 5th. Grinding of the roadway in preparation for the first layer of new asphalt could begin towards the end of the week of August 5th for Rose Street and Wilson Avenue. We are still hoping for completion of the project by around the middle of August. As always please let Brian Bursiek know if you have any questions or concerns about these paving projects at (847) 671-8534.
UPDATE 8/19/19: Work on Rose Street, Wilson Avenue, and Wehrman Avenue is nearly complete. Backfilling and pavement marking work still remains and will be completed very soon. New sod will installed this fall (probably mid-to-late September) and the contractor will water the sod for several weeks afterward. Work on Scott Street (between Irving Park Road and Seymour Avenue) is scheduled to begin in mid-September.
