The Building & Safety Division reviews building plans, issues permits, and provides inspectional services in the Village. The purpose of the division is to ensure that every residential and commercial property complies with all required building, health, and safety codes.

Permit Application Process
This page explains the purpose and steps in obtaining a building permit. Additionally, there is further information regarding what is expected of the applicant once he/she has received a building permit and how to close out the permit after construction has been finalized. Scheduling Inspections for Building Permit

Multi-Family Dwelling Licenses
The Village operates a licensing and inspection program for all multi-family dwellings. Click on the link to learn about the Multi-Family Housing Licensing program.
Schiller Park has established minimum standards for all properties within the Village in order to protect the health, safety, and welfare of residents, business owners, and visitors. The Property Maintenance program is available to help residents understand how to comply with these standards.
