Schiller
Park Adopts Connect-CTY Service
to Reach
Thousands in Minutes
Implementation of Communication Service
Part of Village’s Efforts in Emergency Preparedness and Communication Planning
The Village of Schiller Park has selected the Connect-CTY™ service from The NTI Group, Inc. (NTI) to provide
village administrators the ability to reach local residents, within minutes,
through a single phone call. Schiller
Park’s mayor and select officials will be able to use the Connect-CTY service to communicate with residents about
time-sensitive matters, such as unforeseen events or emergencies, as well as to
provide other community related information deemed to be in the public
interest.
The recent onset of unforeseen events taking place locally, nationally and
internationally has reminded community leaders of the importance of emergency
preparedness and thorough communication planning. Accordingly, the Connect-CTY service enables village administrators to schedule,
send, and track personalized voice messages in multiple languages to some, or
all, of the village’s residents, businesses, and local officials in minutes.
“Effective
communication with our local residents has a direct impact on the overall
goodwill and safety of our village.
When an emergency or pressing situation arises, one of the primary
courses of action is to ensure that the community has accurate information as
quickly as possible,” said Anna Montana, Mayor of Schiller Park. “With the Connect-CTY service, we now have the right tool to provide reliable,
up-to-date information to our community, ensuring that all residents stay
well-informed.”
The Connect-CTY
service is the most effective way for municipalities to quickly notify
department heads, staff, and residents with important information. Village administrators can target messages to an
unlimited number of groups or geographical areas for everything from emergency
response team mobilization to street closings and send messages to only the
specified groups. Since the Connect-CTY service is not a physical piece of equipment
housed in a local office building, the service is protected from localized
disasters.
“Whether I need to
send out a safety warning, or the mayor needs to communicate a special message
of public interest, the Connect-CTY service will help us improve communication via streamlined, efficient,
automated communication,” said Chief Tom Deegan, Schiller Park Fire Chief.
The village is able
to use the service across all departments since it does not require any
additional hardware or software - and the village has the ability to send an
unlimited number of calls without additional costs. This maximizes village dollars and ensures that, when an official
needs to use the system, he or she can do so immediately.
Schiller Park will be conducting its first
test-call on November 4
in order to ensure all residents who would like to be included in the system
are given a chance to correct their phone numbers. If residents do not receive the call, they should contact the
Fire Chief at 847-671-8545
or email firechief@villageofschillerpark.com
to have their contact information updated.
