Coronavirus Pandemic Health Information

The Village of Schiller Park is aware of recent world events with the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Our Village officials and administration have been in contact with local, state and federal agencies involved in tracking and treating the virus. We are proactively monitoring all relevant information and sharing with our partners any updates.

While the current health risk to the public from COVID-19 is low, as with any respiratory illness, some common personal hygiene precautions should be taken. Remind everyone in your household of the importance of practicing everyday preventative actions that can help reduce the spread of respiratory illnesses. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Frequent hand washing, with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, and avoid touching your face when possible;
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick;
  • Stay home when you are sick, except to get medical care;
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your sleeve; and
  • Clean frequently touched surfaces and objects daily (e.g.: cell phones, tables, countertops, light switches, doorknobs, and cabinet handles) using detergent and water.

Decisions about the implementation of community measures will be made by local and state officials, in consultation with federal officials as appropriate.

We encourage everyone to seek further information from credible sources.
