Santa Winter Wonderland, Motorcycle Tour, & Holiday Tree Lighting

Santa Image.jpg

The Village will host socially distant holiday events on Saturday, December 5 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm. First, Schiller Park residents are invited to drive through a festively decorated "Winter Wonderland" at the Metra Station on Ruby Street and see Santa Claus and other fun seasonal characters from 2:00 pm until 5:30 pm. Remember to bring your camera and to wear a facemask if your car window is down. There will be goodie bags for children and a few other fun surprises too!

Also, Santa will lead a motorcycle procession beginning at 4:45 pm at the south end of town on River Road, traveling through many streets throughout the village and ending at the Community Center in time for the tree lighting at 6:00 pm. Please see the map of Santa’s route here, and at our Village website, and watch for updates.

At 6:00 pm, the Mayor, Clerk and Trustees will light the Village Christmas Tree at the Community Center. See the flyer and more details here.

If you are able, please bring a non-perishable food item, a toy, or coat donation to support the Leyden Township Food Pantry. While there are plenty of other options of where to donate, we hope our residents and neighbors will consider donations to the Leyden Township pantry. Neighbors helping neighbors is the goal. Collection bins for your donations will also be located at Village Hall and the Recreation Center.

Additionally, let’s all share the holiday spirit this year by sending a photo of your decorated home to the Village so that we can post it on our Facebook page! Send to BBursiek@schillerparkil.us.
